"The body achieves what the mind believes."
I am making it a point to start each Monday with a new mantra! These past few days I haven't had some of the best runs, and it really gets me down. I know not all runs are perfect, and some are far from it.
This mantra is perfect for me. I am usually pretty good about not listening to my head when I'm tired and telling myself that I'm strong, but lately, I have had zero mental toughness. I am letting my thoughts take over my head too easily and I need to learn to push through the negative thoughts!
I cannot achieve something if I let my mind talk me out of something. I know I am physically tough, but it's really my mind that needs strengthening!
Due to adding in a lot more hill and speed workouts, my runs have been more tiring and hard, but I feel so great when I finish! These are really going to help me in the long run both physically, but more importantly, mentally. If I can push through the tough times, I am only going to get stronger!
SO....
I just need to repeat to myself on every run this week:
"The body achieves what the mind believes."
