I've decided to start looking at my macros more. I am not going to be a psycho about it, but I feel as though I need to keep my intake more balanced. Sometimes I eat way too many carbs and not enough protein, leaving me hungry. Sometimes I eat way too much fat and not enough protein and not enough carbs. These imbalances can leave you hungry and unsatisfied, causing you to overeat, under eat, or not perform well in your workouts.
For my macros, I am going to go with 45% carbs, 30% proteins, and 25% fats. This means if I eat an 1800 calorie diet, I will need around 200 grams of carbs, 135 grams of protein, and 50 grams of fats. As long as I land around those macros with my meals and snacks, then I should be satisfied, full, and perform better in my runs, lifts, and other activities because I will have a good balanced diet!
I started this yesterday and felt great! I am trying to cut back on sugar as well, and this is definitely helping because yesterday I was WAY under my sugar requirements! I think I am going to like counting my macros. It really simplifies things I think!
